I have wanted to adapt the short fiction of Ambrose Bierce to audio for a long time, and I recently completed a version of Bierce’s truly frightening short short story – Oil of Dog for My Audio Universe – a literary magazine of sound. Imagining the adaptation, I heard contemporary, even urban music behind the words.
